Elevated Helideck landing Nurburgring
In the summer of 2022 R&W made a training flight to the rooftop of the Nürburgring Hotel as part of the CPL training of one of our students. This is a very interesting maneuver only allowed for Cat A approved helicopters.
The size of the landing area is not the problem.

First you will need permission of the hotel, then the LBA wants to know if your helicopter is really capable of performing this approach and landing. Also you have to calculate at which weight this is possible regarding density altitude, wind and single-engine performance and finally you have to find a place to refuel.
The experience was awesome!

Night Flying with the Bo 105
Night flight training is part of our normal training syllabus at R&W, which is normally performed on a single-engine helicopter.
But it actually makes more sense to take a twin engine helicopter for this purpose, considering the fact that in the dark almost all terrain becomes hostile environment in case of an engine failure.
The risk is minimized by taking a twin and the powerful and steerable lights of the Bo provide much more detail of the surroundings and underground in case of a unforeseen event.

Camera Flights
The Bo 105 below is being prepared for a camera flight over the North Sea.
The crew is wearing a dry suit and there is a dinghy on board for 4 persons.
The flight took place in February and the water is then really cold.
